Car Hire question Portugal

I'm off to Portugal on saturday with the Mrs.

We've booked a car in her name & under her driver's license as I don't have one.

Can I pay with my credit card for this transaction as she has only Visa debit 7 small print requires named driver to have a CC?

Odd fucking question I know

Hope you get it with no hassles! Good point mentioned about the DVLA code. Piece of piss to sort though. I hired a car in Croatia in July and they'd not even heard about the code and said it didn't matter! Best get it to be on the safe side.

you will get proper bent over and fucked up the arse, they are robbing cunts, spain as bad enough but car hire firms in portugal take the fucking biscuit, i was fucking fuming by the time i left the airport, ended up about 3 times the price which i thought it would be

I've heard of people not getting the car if the card isn't in the name of the driver- even if they have informed the company beforehand. And it does have to be a credit card rather than a debit card I think.

But you can probably sort it out with them if they are reasonable.
